If you are visiting New York City, you must be familiar to the instagram hot spot with the Brooklyn Bridge (Inserted Below). Or maybe you’re a local looking for a new restaurant to try. The Celestine, a mediterranean restaurant, is a place that feels down to earth and local to area. When you walk in you’re greeted with a contemporary furniture layout with natural elements. What makes this restaurant stand out, other than their nicely arranged interior, is the view. As you walk to the back they have open seating with a clear view of the Dumbo Bridge. Most importantly, their food was outstanding.
Vibe of the Restaurant
We sat outside to immerse ourselves with the wonderful view. The weather was exceptional and there’s enough shade so that you are not scorched by the summer heat. Indoor seating is equally a vibe. The interior design is done so well. It feels classy and gives you the sense of New York with their large glass windows showcasing the bridge. The plants distributed around the space brings a down to earth feel while the contemporary furniture choice elevates the overall space. The lighting from the pendents and the wood finishes creates a warm and relaxing tone to you’re dinner. They do dinner hours on weekdays and dinner & lunch hours on weekends. They are also a great place to host a intimate events. As they quote “We love hosting people for life’s celebratory moments, be they large celebrations or intimate gatherings – from weddings and rehearsal dinners to birthday parties and mitzvahs, bridal and baby showers, holiday parties, and company off-site retreats.”
Food
To start off the meal my boyfriend and I had the Spanish Octopus as our appetizer. I ordered the cacio e pepe and my boyfriend had salmon. I dare say that this was the best cacio e pepe I had. Their portion size is not the more generous. I would recommend ordering 2 appetizers or an extra entree to share. They menu is constantly evolving based on what’s seasonly in for ingredients and based on their chefs.
What to Wear
The attire is chic and don’t show effort. This restaurant had many locals who dressed neat with much accessories. There were also some of the artistic folks who’s outfits bring a trend center aura! For women, a comfortable outfit that’s your summer to-go with a lot of accessorization (sunglasses placed on your head, necklaces, bracelets, rings) would be fitting. You can do your makeup/no makeup and hair depending on how dressed up you want to look. A flowy dress or blouse is what I personally would wear. If you’re looking for something more sexy for a date night it’s time to pull out your black fitted dress! For men, I would say a slightly colorful and casual button down with shorts will be perfect. It can be even better with a watch or sunglasses.
Additional Nearby Itinerary
This is a prefect restaurant to add to your itinerary when planning a date or if you’re just touring the area. Some other activities that are near by includes walking along the Pebble Beach and taking the iconic Brooklyn Bridge photo. There was a furniture store, West Elm, across from the Pebble beach so we walking in and took a look. Right next to it there is the Time Out Market. If you’re still hungry, Time Out Market is the perfect place to do second rounds. There are multiple restaurants in here, where you can grab a small plater. If not there’s also a casual bar. One thing you wont want to miss out on is their free accessible, rooftop view. The view is just breathe-taking and romantic when the sun starts to set. There is a green pasture called Brooklyn Bridge Park not to far from the Time Out Market. The park is is on Peir 1 and when you walk towards the southern corner of this peir, you will have a view of Lady Statue of Liberty herself. For your convenience, all the things listed here of what to do in Dumb is in order from if you where to leave from the restaurant, Celestine. This conclude my Dumbo itinerary!
